ABOUT THE ARTIST

With the obstacles and challenges of learning yet another new language, as I learned 6 by age of 13, I’ve also embraced the many wonderful opportunities in this life.  It hasn’t fully sunk until recently that along with billions of humans, I too have become part of the universe in such a humbling, yet contributing and rewarding way.

I’ve been creating art most of my life.  Ever since I can remember, I carried a doodle pad and a pencil, everywhere I went.  During my high school years, I was constantly pushed and motivated by my one mentor who was also my art teacher, Mr. Polman. He believed in me and saw things in me I didn’t at the time, and I am forever grateful.

After high school I pursued & finished a college degree in Business, got my first career job and met my husband Anthony, with whom I have 2 beautiful children.  I had a long 10 year pause with creating art after high school.

In 2003 while I was pregnant with my 1st born child, my passion for art re-sparked and I was able to paint some of my first acrylic abstracts, followed by few realism pieces.  At this time I also joined a handful of online forums and galleries where I met some inspirational artists.  They not only encouraged me to upload photos of my art to the online sites in order to sell copies, but who I remain friends with today over two decades later.

Last 23 years, I have sold countless original artworks, custom commission pieces and copies of my paintings through my online galleries.  During this time I also pursued photography, which was sparked by the Macro world of exploring things smaller then the eye can see.  Taking images of family portraits, newborns, weddings, for sports and websites to professional industrial images, I have enjoyed it all.

I am inspired by life events, elements, people and nature.  Moving to Norfolk County 11 years ago has shifted my art by focusing more on rural surroundings. We have recently relocated to New Brunswick which has been absolutely life changing experience, living fully off grid being self sufficient.  I enjoy painting livestock, birds, sunrises and sunsets, landscapes, waterscapes, insects, and truly all beings great and small.  Over the past 23 years, I’ve had my art in several judged competitions, winning various placements along with solo displays at few galleries.  It is such a humbling experience every time.

Whether it is through acrylic paintings or taking photos, I feel enormous fulfillment and gratitude to be able make art, to inject a piece of my soul and my light along with bright and vivid colours into everything I create.

My public and private classes have lead me to meet a lot of people.  I'd like to think that my time here on Earth is spent well, teaching art and also learning on all levels possible.  My hope is that I leave enlightened footprints in the hearts of those I meet on my journey.  I know that art is very healing on all levels. I have been told hundreds of times that the folks I do meet and teach art to, have been able to heal from their personal traumas or anxieties, and that creating art has been very therapeutic, cathartic and healing for them.

I believe with the choices we all make, come along lessons and opportunities that continuously expand our consciousness, and we overcome, learn and succeed in anything we set our minds into.  Everything we believe in, is attainable with passion, desire, hard work and a reflection of our intentions.  My faith and belief in God and His love and strength, has got me to where I am today.

My gratitude is beyond measure to all family and friends, who continue to inspire and support me.

Born in Kosice, Slovak Republic formerly known as Czechoslovakia of Europe in 1973.

I am a four times published illustrator, photographer, an award winning artist and poet.  Being an art instructor for the past 9 years has been an incredible blessing.  I not only love teaching art, but also via the enormous support of my returning students, I am able to donate to and support the Canadian Mental Health Association, honoring my sister Ludy, who passed away in 2017.

Coming to Canada in 1986 after living in Austria at a refugee camp for over 6 months, I spent all of my youth and pre-teens in Slovakia.  I travelled many beautiful countries of Europe, and although I did not know it at the time I was also being inspired by the various scenes of the countries we travelled.
